For the month of June 2023 we have invited Jean Ketterling.
Jean Ketterling has been a member at LOAM Clay Studio since 2019. She is a PhD candidate at Carleton University in the Law and Legal Studies department, where she conducts research at the intersection of game and sexuality studies. LOAM has been a welcome escape during her studies. You can find her work at http://www.jkettceramics.
ARTIST’S STATEMENT:
As a potter, I am interested in making functional objects that reflect or resonate with the natural world. I often use a mixture of throwing, altering, and handbuilding to create organic, vivacious forms that (hopefully) feel good to hold and use. My favourite things to make (and fill) are flower vases. I am so appreciative for all the help and support from the wonderful folks at LOAM and feel very lucky that I get to spend time doing this challenging, rewarding, and sometimes frustrating hobby in community with the staff and members!
