To register for this class you must have taken at least one beginner wheel class. You should have a clear understanding of the steps involved in throwing a cylinder or bowl and be ready to practice what you have learned. You will develop and refine your skills in wedging clay, centering, pulling then later trimming, making and attaching handles. The aim towards the end of this class is for you to consistently be able to centre your clay and to start to have enough control of the clay that you make the shapes you intend to.
You will be introduced to simple but effective surface decorating techniques and methods of choosing and applying glazes. This class is open to all adults and teenagers.
Please note that all materials and tools will be provided. We do not provide aprons so please bring one or dress in clothes you don't mind getting dirty. We also recommend bringing a small towel for your hands.
We offer 2 schedule options. Choose the one you wish to register for from the scroll down menu.
Our classes will have no more than 6 people in them so that we can ensure a safe distance between you. Fewer students also means that you will have plenty of individual attention from the teacher.
