This four day intensive class is perfect for students that are looking to push themselves creatively and to develop their wheel thrown pieces beyond simple forms. Students will start by creating pieces on the wheel and then over the course of the week will manipulate the forms learning the ideal consistency for altering successfully. Some of the techniques that will be taught are darting, throwing in two parts (goblets, and extra tall forms), oval casseroles.
This class will be running from Tuesday, July 25 to Friday, July 28, 2023 starting at 9:30 a.m. Each day is broken into two segments.
9:30-12:30: Instructor led demonstration, practice and feedback.
12:30-1: BYOL (Lunch)
1-4: Independent Practice/Open Studio Time
Learn in the morning and practice to reinforce class learnings.
To register for this class you should be working at an Intermediate Level. You should be able to centre 4-5 lbs confidently and throw intentionally.
For those attending the 4 day series, Glaze Firing will be taking place during our scheduled Intensive Glaze Day. If you are attending for 1 or 2 days you will be welcome to return using open studio time to glaze your work. For those attending the series, please let us know which glaze date you wish to attend and we will save your spot. Your options are:

Each session varies from group to group. We are always open to student suggestions and requests for projects. Come with an open mind and give something new a try!
Our classes are intended for adults and youth aged 15+.
Please note that 1, 10kg bag of clay and tools will be provided for those who sign up for the 4 day series. For 1-2 day classes, you will be provided with reclaim clay. Extra clay can be purchased directly from us. We do not provide aprons, please bring one or dress in clothes you don't mind getting dirty. Please note that all materials and tools are included in the price.
