This intensive is a great way to improve through practice and instruction from a pro with no attachment to what you make. You use our clay and all pieces are cut through for learning purposes!
This class is intended for students who have taken at least one Wheel 2 class (or equivalent). You do not have to be a member to register as long as you have some experience with clay! You should be able to confidently centre up to 3lbs of clay using the coning method consistently make intentional forms nerves of steel for dissecting all work made in class
The emphasis of this series is to work on the techniques demonstrated with coaching and direction, without keeping any items.
Class instructor leads students in a series of skills clinics focused on useful throwing skills such as:
- Centering Large Amounts of Clay
- Throwing Tall
- Off the Hump: Make A Set
- Trimming: Foot Fetish
- Triming A Set
- Handles
- Save A Pot
Practice clay and tools are provided. We do not provide aprons, so please, bring one or dress in clothes you won't mind getting dirty. We also recommend that you bring a small towel for your hands.
