Early-Winter 2026 Wheel for Beginners

Duration: 6 weeks | 2.5 hours per class                                                                     Intended Level: Complete Beginners or Beginners who have taken 1-2 classes

Whether you’ve always wanted to try pottery or are just looking for a new creative outlet, this class covers everything you need to get started at the wheel. Over six weeks, you’ll learn the full process from lump of clay to finished pot including centering, pulling, trimming, and glazing your own functional pieces.

With hands-on guidance and plenty of encouragement, you’ll leave with a handful of pieces you’re proud of and the foundational skills to keep building your practice. Expect to get messy, laugh a little, and find the rhythm of the wheel, it’s addictive in the best way.

What You’ll Learn

  • Centering and pulling clay to form bowls, mugs, and cylinders
  • Trimming for balance and proportion
  • Basic glazing techniques and surface decoration
  • The studio process — from wet work to bisque to glaze firing

Good to Know     

  • You can expect to make 3-8 pieces in this class. 
  • Our classes are intended for adults and youth aged 15+.
  • All materials and tools are provided.
  • Dress for mess or please bring your own apron.
