Large Rustic Plate
Large rustic plate 28 cm in diameter x 2.5 cm in height. Black Clay
The largest of the three rustic plates we designed for La Tanière. The shape references homespun utilitarian domestic wares. The surface decoration calls to mind the fire of the old town leaving patches of ash on the rims. We altered the rim of each plate individually so that no two would be alike. The glaze application was likewise done to ensure the uniqueness of each plate. Unified through clay body, surface treatment and proportion all three plates create a pleasing whole when grouped together.
