Make with intention. Find your direction. Develop your voice.
This eight-month ceramics mentorship with Carolynne Pynn Trudeau presents a meaningful opportunity to explore the space between where your work is today and where you want it to go.
Over eight months, you’ll work closely with Carolynne to examine your practice, explore your influences, strengthen your technical abilities, and make more intentional creative choices. Together, you’ll explore not only how a piece is made, but also the deeper why of making. What are you expressing through your choices? Are the forms, proportions, surfaces, and finishes achieving what you intended? And when they aren’t, how do you get there?
Through small-group instruction, independent exploration, regular mentorship, technical troubleshooting, and thoughtful critique, the mentorship provides space to explore ideas, challenge familiar approaches, refine your skills, and develop work that more closely reflects your creative vision.

Carolynne Pynn Trudeau’s lifelong relationship with clay began in the mud-filled ditches of her childhood, where she sculpted tiny figures and their imagined worlds. That early spark evolved into a 40-year career as a professional potter and educator — one defined by both craftsmanship and curiosity.
After studying Fine Arts at McMaster University, Carolynne apprenticed under potter Helen Brink, spending years immersed in every aspect of studio practice. Her work has since been presented to international dignitaries, earned awards, appeared in publications, and become part of both public and private collections across the globe.
She has taught thousands of students — from elementary to university levels — while continuing her own studio practice. Through all of it, her motivation remains simple and sincere: to share the quiet satisfaction of clay, the way it connects the hand, the heart, and the maker’s intent.
