The Monthly Membership is designed for makers who want room to breathe, linger, and truly get lost in their work. This option offers a generous amount of open studio access paired with your own dedicated shelf — so you can move slowly, work with intention, and return to pieces over time without worrying about how long you’ve been at the table or wheel. It’s an ideal rhythm for detailed making, thoughtful forms, and deeper creative focus.
With a shelf to call your own and the freedom to come and go during open studio hours, this membership supports a more immersive relationship with clay. Leave work in progress, refine surfaces over multiple sessions, and settle into a practice that values process over pace. This is about continuity, presence, and making space for the work to unfold naturally.
Once approved, you’ll be assigned a personal shelf for the duration of your rental period.
You’ll book open studio sessions in advance, just like other members, but with the added ease of knowing you have a place to leave your work between visits.
Use your shelf to store works in progress, tools, and clay responsibly, allowing you to work across multiple sessions without rushing.
Keep your shelf tidy, labeled, and within capacity so the studio remains welcoming and functional for everyone.

Unlimited Membership is intended for makers who are comfortable working independently in a shared ceramics studio environment.
If you have previous independent studio experience in a shared ceramics space, please include this in your email.
This option is ideal for experienced makers who:
You are eligible to become an Hourly Member once you have completed at least three (3) six-week classes at LOAM.
This requirement helps ensure members are familiar with LOAM’s studio systems, shared equipment, cleanup expectations, firing processes, and in-house glazes before working independently in the space. While pottery skills transfer between studios, every ceramics studio operates differently — especially when it comes to glazing and kiln workflows.
This learning period also gives both the studio and the member time to determine whether the membership environment is a good fit.
In most cases, yes.
While many pottery skills transfer between studios, we require members to have experience specifically within LOAM’s studio environment before joining open studio independently. This helps ensure members are comfortable with our cleanup standards, studio systems, firing processes, and glaze materials.
Glazing in particular varies significantly between studios, and understanding LOAM’s materials and workflows helps members achieve better results while also reducing the risk of negatively impacting shared equipment or other members’ work.
Potters with previous independent studio membership experience in a shared ceramics studio may qualify for a reduced requirement of one six-week class that includes glazing instruction.
