I began pottery by way of a night course several years ago and it quickly became an obsession. I love everything about clay – the potential for endless variations of structure and form and the work required to hone each skill to grow your craft.
A public servant by day, my inspirations are diverse – from contemporary and abstract art and design to nature and a love of the ocean. I make functional pieces and really like contrast in my work – from the delicacy of porcelain to a dark stoneware, minimalist lines to vibrant colours and unexpected forms, but most of all I just love the process of making.
