Feels like long evenings, something cold in your hand, and pouring from something you made.
In this class, we’ll focus on creating functional drinkware meant to be used, shared, and passed around. Think pitchers, cups, goblets, and carafes—pieces that live on the table all summer long.
You’ll build on your wheel skills by exploring taller forms, refined pouring lips, and cohesive sets. We’ll look at a range of approaches: throwing and altering, throwing in sections and assembling, and shaping forms that feel both intentional and expressive. Whether it’s a wine goblet, a margarita pitcher, or a simple water carafe, the goal is to create pieces that feel good to hold, pour from, and use.
By the end, you’ll have a small collection of “sippers”—a bevy of forms designed to be enjoyed with others.
