W2+ Locked & Lidded: Fitting Forms

Instructor: Krista Brosseau
Duration: 6 weeks | 2.5 hours per class.                                                                    Intended Level: Wheel 2+/Intermediate, experience making basic lidded forms, we recommend a minimum one Wheel 2 class or equivalent.

Precision meets artistry in this six-week exploration of forms that come together just right. From butter bells to oil cruets, water vessels, and casserole dishes, this class dives deep into the details that separate “almost” from “absolutely perfect.”

Led by Krista, whose refined and modern approach to pottery emphasizes clean lines and cohesion, you’ll learn how to design, throw, and assemble functional pieces that rely on measurement, proportion, and planning. Each project challenges you to think about fit  lids that seat smoothly and spouts that fits your pot perfectly.

You’ll explore how to measure for shrinkage, account for the nuances of clay bodies, and anticipate changes through the drying and firing process. The result? Pieces that function flawlessly and look effortlessly composed.
