Wheel Week! with Carolynne Pynn Trudeau (5 Day)

1-WEEK INTENSIVE: WHEEL THROWING
DAY 1–5 | July 13-17 from 9:30am – 5:00pm

Master potter and instructor Carolynne Pynn Trudeau leads this immersive five-day wheel throwing intensive. Across five days, students focus on developing and refining their skills at the wheel through demonstration, individualized guidance, and dedicated practice time.

About the Workshop

This intensive is designed to meet you exactly where you are in your clay journey.

With decades of experience as both a production potter and educator, Carolynne brings a deeply attentive and responsive approach to teaching. Early in the week, she connects with each participant to understand their experience, interests, and goals—shaping the direction of instruction so the workshop reflects what you most want to explore.

Working entirely on the wheel, students focus on form, efficiency, and intentional making. Through demonstration and one-on-one feedback, Carolynne supports participants in refining foundational skills, improving consistency, and strengthening their overall approach to functional pottery.

Topics may include throwing mechanics, developing consistency and workflow, refining functional forms, and exploring proportion, and design. Emphasis is placed on repetition, observation, and adjustment—building both confidence and fluency at the wheel.

Grounded in practical skill-building yet open to individual direction, this workshop encourages students to deepen their practice while developing a stronger sense of personal approach in the studio.

Students will leave with a body of work and a clearer understanding of how technique, rhythm, and intention come together at the wheel.
