Groupe La Tanière operates a number of restaurants in Québec City. Tanière Expérience is the most upscale of all their restaurants. The Chef is young, dynamic and very enthusiastic about the history of Québec City. The restaurant is housed in the rock basement of a heritage building dating back to the 1600`s. Chef François-Emmanuel Nicol wants to tell the story of Québec City from its very beginning until the present day.
Part of chef Nicol's vision includes reflecting this unique history in the dinnerware. We are thrilled to be part of this new endeavour and have learned a lot about the history of this beautiful city during the consultation and design process. Designing plates and bowls reminiscent of rocks, cannon balls (yes, they found cannon balls in the walls of the house!), old scorched ink bottles, and rustic clay plates provided an exciting opportunity to flex our technical and creative muscles - and it was a lot of fun, too!
We have created more than 15 different custom designs and textures and made more than 1000 pieces for this restaurant which will open its doors on March 20th, 2019. Patrons will be treated to a 20 course experience.
