This course is designed to introduce students to the fundamental principles of sculpting a human head and bust.

This course offers a practical Introduction to the essentials of sculpting a human head and bust, from the general to the specific. We will learn to see familiar human features with an analytical eye, breaking them down into simpler shapes - e.g., spheres, cylinders, and planes. Challenge yourself to see things in a new way!

Detailed sculpting methods will be shown with clear, step-by-step demonstration to demystify the process of sculpting the human bust, with emphasis on proportions, symmetry, and anatomical accuracy Specific techniques for adding fine details and textures to make the sculptures more realistic will be explored. Additionally, the course will cover the basics of colour theory, emphasizing the importance of layering and colour in creating depth and enhancing the lifelike appearance of the sculptures.

Each class includes individual guidance and feedback from the instructor. 

We do not provide aprons so please bring one or dress in clothes you don't mind getting dirty. You may also want to bring a towel for your hands.

The class duration is 2.5 hour, clean up is included in this time. 

This class is intended for all levels. It is open to all adults and teenagers from ages 15 and up.
