Shaina Lipsey
Shaina’s love and fascination with what happens to clay when it meets fire are what drive her exploration of form. Whether it’s pushing the clay to hold an angle that defies the laws of gravity or creating a simple and clean line that is true and sparks joy, her happy place is at the wheel.
Shaina creates functional pieces that are often a mash up of Asian aesthetic and Fiestaware fun. Her work is embellished with tactile finishes that treat your hands to unexpected exteriors that are – she hopes – a bit of a surprise.
Shaina is a member of the Ottawa Guild of Potters and sells her work regularly through their shows as well as privately. She is excited to join the teaching team at LOAM and looks forward to sharing her passion with those new to pottery.
