Handbuilding Mixed Levels - with Anne Nicol Jan.8 Wednesday mornings 10am-12:30pm - Winter 2025

Introduction to the fundamentals of forming clay by hand. In this course you will be rolling slabs of clay and using these to construct some simple and some more complex shapes. You will also learn coiling and pinching techniques, and surface decorating techniques such as carving, stamping, sgraffito and sprigs.

Projects will be geared to the student’s experience level. Beginner students will follow the teacher's class projects; more experienced students may try working on their own ideas at the instructor's discretion. The sample projects shown in each class vary widely and may include mugs, plates, pitchers, planters, vases, boxes or others!

Come challenge your imagination and be amazed by what you create in class!

Please note that all materials and tools will be provided.

We do not provide aprons so please bring one or dress in clothes you don't mind getting dirty. You may also want to bring a towel for your hands.

The class duration is 2.5 hour, clean up is included in this time.

This class is intended for all levels. It is open to all adults and teenagers from ages 15 and up.
